Project Engineer | M.S., EIT
Mountain biker, trail runner, back-country skier, seawall enthusiast
After some drafting classes in high school, a few summers of residential wood construction in Maine, a math and physics undergraduate degree in Pennsylvania, Kyle was inspired to go into civil engineering school in New York City and then on to complete an MS in Structural Engineering and Wood Science in Oregon. Finally landing in Vancouver, BC in 2016, Kyle designed mass timber and glulam structures with both regular and free-form geometries in Canada and China using design codes from Canada, New Zealand, Europe, U.S.A., and China.
Kyle’s three years at a timber design-build company provided him insightful manufacturing, shop fab, and project site experience that translates into realistic, buildable designs. In addition, parametric design has recently come into play with Kyle’s more recent projects and he is ready to take it to the next level. His passion for the outdoors, sustainable practices, design, innovation, creativity, and teamwork has somehow coalesced over the years into a corresponding and energizing engineering role and is excited to have started with ASPECTin Summer 2019.
Outside the office, Kyle’s trying (unsuccessfully so far) to win some kind of running, biking, or tri- race.
