Project Engineer | M.Eng.
Amateur skier, football player, explorer, photographer
After graduating from University College Dublin with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with Architecture, Aishling relocated to London for six years.
During this time, she contributed to a number of projects, both locally and internationally. These include a large-scale commercial development in the Middle East, which involved a steel diagrid structural system; the top-down construction of a large one-storey basement beneath an existing Victorian property in London; as well as multiple office redevelopments in London which consisted of altering and extending existing concrete buildings using mass timber. Aishling is drawn to architecturally-led projects, particularly where the structure is exposed or expressed in the design.
Aishling loves to travel and is very slowly making her way around the globe. In 2016, she travelled to Rwanda with a team of engineers and architects to construct a suspended footbridge in the rural community of Coco.
And in Spring 2019, Aishling made the move to Vancouver. Since then, she has contributed to a wide range of projects, including several mixed-use buildings for First Nations communities, as well as the Visitor’s Centre for the Malahat Skywalk.
When she’s not glued to her desk, she can usually be found exploring the city and its surroundings, by foot or by bike, with her camera in tow.
