BIM Technician | HND in Construction and the Built Environment: Civil Engineering
Adventurous, explorative, ambient light loving, lover of conversation
Born and raised in the UK, Andrew completed a Higher National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment: Civil Engineering. This is a progression of how, throughout his education, he has been drawn to the applied sciences – and especially, how we can shape our environment to provide spaces for communities to flourish and endure sustainably.
Andrew started his career as a CAD Technician for a Structural Engineering firm in the industrial sector. His work comprised mostly of producing fabrication drawings for temporary works, steel and concrete projects. During this time, he became aware of BIM and noticed an opportunity to improve the drafting processes. Fascinated with the efficiency and mitigation it boasted, he looked up industry standards and guidelines and produced a CAD manual to accommodate any project BIM system.
Now a keen member of the Aspect team, this is a part of CAD he looks forward to exploring – pursuing a knowledge of BIM systems to provide more accessible, clear and complete information.
Outside of work, Andrew is often exploring – whether it be musically, intellectually or physically – by playing guitar, reading an informative book or hitting the trail/road.
