BIM Technician
Puzzle lover, steady hiker, mother.
A born and bred Vancouverite, Julia has enjoyed watching and being involved in the built environment of her community. She loves to ask why, and to see how construction progresses from the first sketch to the building site. Since 2014, she has worked on warehouses, hospitals and schools all over the province, and townhomes across the country. She geeks out spying exposed structural connections and projects she’s worked on.
As a Structural BIM Technician, Julia loves the mix of technical knowledge and graphic design in making quality blueprints. Early in her career she got a taste for how computer science makes drafting smoother for repetitive building styles like warehouses. She also picked up coordination and site knowledge with existing structures while working on hospitals and school additions. She enjoys making the experience of drafting more fulfilling and efficient, which is what led her to Aspect. Her favourite projects are local hospital additions and projects where new methods and experience were gained.
Outside of work, she used to spend her time hunting the best bubble tea and volunteering with friends for youth and church events. She enjoyed bouldering (pre-baby), and has nearly as much fun cheering her husband on indoor and outdoor routes. Julia now runs after her toddler in her spare time, whether it’s at the park or up Mt. Cheam.
