Born and raised in a small town on the North East coast of Quebec, Shawn completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Sherbrooke and specialized in timber design by completing a Master’s degree at the University of Laval. His research project focused on fastener capacity in timber engineered products, which served as the basis for the development of design equations on the latest CSA 086 standard.
In 2014, Shawn moved to British Columbia where he worked for more than 6 years on North American and internationally-renowned mass timber projects. He developed an expertise for connection design and seismic systems applied in mass timber. His portfolio includes high-end homes, multi-residential, Passivhaus, institutional and commercial buildings.
Shawn recently joined Aspect to pursue his passion of designing innovative and architecturally articulated buildings. Now relocated on the east coast, you might find him on slopes, running, skiing, or biking depending on the season … with two (2) minions by his side.
