Born and raised on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, Alexander’s journey took him from tropical shores to the busy streets of Philadelphia, where he earned his degree at Drexel University. During this time, he also spent six months in Singapore for an internship before graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. But he didn’t stop with his education there. Alexander then went on to earn a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and specialized in structural engineering.
Alexander has a knack for balancing architectural design with engineering and has contributed to a variety of projects, particularly steel and light wood frame buildings. His time on the east coast sparked an interest in mass timber which ultimately led him to Vancouver to work with and learn from the expertise of the ASPECT team.
With his love for problem solving, it’s no surprise that Alexander’s passions extend to the world of climbing. More specifically the superior climbing discipline – bouldering! Living out west, he has also ignited his love for the wilderness, fueling his new hobbies of hiking, biking, and camping.
