Structural Designer | M.A.Sc., P.Eng.
Sweet seeker, Tea sommelier, Treble maker
Alireza began his career in academia as a research and teaching assistant before realizing his passion for creativity and precision details was a strong match for a career in structural engineering. He’s driven by the challenge of transforming ideas on paper into elegant and structurally sound buildings that shape our skyline.
Alireza has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tehran, where he grew up, and a Master of Applied Science in Structural and Earthquake Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver – the city he’s called home since 2017. His project portfolio includes several high-rise concrete residential buildings, as well as commercial structures across Metro Vancouver and the United States, where he’s applied his expertise as a seismic design specialist.
In addition to his project work, Alireza has authored several articles on seismic behaviour of tall buildings for publications including Earthquake Spectra, the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Structural Engineering, and the Applied Technology Council for the City and County of San Francisco.
From hunting down the best pastry in town, or (stealing) borrowing the fur babies of his friends, Alireza’s perfect day also often includes bottomless cups of his preferred beverage of choice-tea! Speaking of tea, rumor has it, if you make it into Alireza’s close circle of friends you might just get the chance to hear him sing.
