Whistler, BC

New Build. 12,700 sq. ft.

A new, six-bedroom home located in Whistler, with scenic northeastern views of the surrounding mountains. The interiors feature exposed timber and rugged stone, as well as a “floating” staircase, all of which add to the home’s light and airy feeling. The home features a kitchen, a recreation room, a wet bar, ski storage, a fitness room, an outdoor hot tub, a swimming pool, and an attached three-car garage.

Structurally, the custom residence consists of a mix of conventional concrete, steel posts and beams, and stick-framed walls as the superstructure. The roof is comprised of very large cantilevers carrying high-elevation snow loads in Whistler. Two concrete fireplace structures support the majority of the lateral loads. In addition to performing the role of structural Engineer of Record, ASPECT’s scope included extensive specialty engineering work, including design and drafting for the featured cantilevered steel stairs, cantilevered concrete pool, and landscape structures.
