West Vancouver, BC
This modern residence is a three-storey, single-family home situated in West Vancouver. ASPECT was the structural Engineer of Record for this project. A hybrid system is employed for this structure, with light wood frame construction as the primary system above grade. Steel elements are used to create the elegant cantilevers at the front of the building, as well as to achieve the long-span open spaces. Concrete is used for the basement construction and the main floor suspended slab. A feature staircase fabricated from steel plates provides a striking circulation route through the building. In addition to the main home, a 300 square foot accessory
building functions as a garden studio space.
