Completing the chain of pathways extending from Penn Station to Hudson Yards and south along the 1.45-mile High Line to the West Village, the Connector is a 1,200 foot-long linear park that provides a dedicated pedestrian space, offering a seamless and fully accessible pathway. The bridge is part of a long-standing vision to create safer, more enjoyable pedestrian access, connect people to transit, and link open spaces and communities in the neighbourhood.
This timber truss bridge is constructed using sustainably-sourced Alaskan Yellow Cedar glulam, and is supported on steel columns. ASPECT provided Design Assist services, Connection Engineering, and support for Installation Engineering for this project through the Installer, Metropolitan Walters.
