Managing Principal, Toronto | P.Eng.
Cure-Ator , Home Repairs Pro, Lifelong Athlete, Iced Capp Aficionado
James grew up in St. Catharines, just down the road from Niagara Falls, and has spent his life in Southern Ontario. A graduate of Queen’s University with a B.Sc.E. in Civil Engineering (Structural), he has built a 20-year career shaping some of the region’s most recognizable high-rise residential and commercial buildings.
His expertise lies in high-rise concrete design, with experience spanning up to 60-storey towers, commercial office developments, hospitals, and complex facility renovations. From full rehabilitations of commercial towers to landmark residential towers, James brings extensive technical knowledge and steady leadership to complex urban projects. His impressive portfolio of work includes award-winning and high-profile projects including 99 Atlantic, Sunseeker Condos, 100 Adelaide Street West, Michael Garron Hospital, Fashion House, One Delisle, and VMC Block 3.
James is driven by a lifelong fascination with how buildings work. Even as a kid, he found himself wondering how everything was put together. Today, that curiosity continues to show through his love for solving tough structural challenges and developing outside-the-box solutions that turn “impossible” details into built reality.
As Managing Principal in Toronto, James is excited to help grow ASPECT’s presence while fostering a culture that supports both great projects and the people who deliver them. He joined ASPECT for its people-first approach and collaborative spirit — values he believes are essential to long-term success.
Outside of work, James keeps busy with his two kids and based on the season, he can usually be found on the ice or a baseball diamond, but either way he’ll be fueling up with a Timmies Iced Capp. Homeownership has also turned him into an enthusiastic handyman, keeping him close to his building roots.
