Project Engineer | B.Sc. FH
Dog Dad, Chilli Grower, Perpetual Enthusiast, Team Hufflepuff
Born and raised in Zürich, Switzerland, Julian Hungerbuehler has always been drawn to building things with purpose. His path into structural engineering started with an apprenticeship as a carpenter before evolving into engineering studies and project work across Switzerland. Today, alongside his Bachelor of Science from FH Graubünden, Julian is continuing his education through a part-time Master of Science in Wood Technology, combining his hands-on construction background with a passion for timber design.
Since entering the industry, Julian has worked on a wide variety of infrastructure and building projects, including bridges, renovations, apartment buildings, transit infrastructure, and high-rise developments throughout Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He’s also served as a Project Manager on a high-rise project, an experience that reinforced his interest in collaboration, problem solving, and contributing to projects that shape the built environment in meaningful ways.
Julian’s experience has given him a strong foundation in concrete construction, though he is increasingly focused on expanding his expertise in timber construction and the retrofitting of existing buildings. He enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems as part of a team and is motivated by projects that combine technical thinking with long-term impact.
Outside of work, Julian spends as much time outdoors as possible, often climbing or hanging out with his English Setter. He’s also an enthusiastic chilli grower, dedicated crafter, and self-proclaimed mustard nerd. Add in a healthy appreciation for all things Harry Potter, and it’s safe to say Julian brings the same level of curiosity and enthusiasm to his hobbies as he does to his work.
