Project Engineer | P.Eng., M.A.Sc.
Snowboarder, coffee addict, metalhead, aspiring yogi
Marcel attained his Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo where he got hooked on wood structures after just a little exposure. That was all it took for him to pack up for Vancouver, BC and start his journey in timber engineering. There, Marcel recognized the values of other materials and researched on timber-concrete composites (TCC) for his Master of Applied Science in Structural and Earthquake Engineering at the University of British Columbia.
With a fervent drive, Marcel returned back to his home city of Toronto after graduating and backpacking for 6 months in Southeast Asia. He has since worked on multiple projects ranging from custom homes with complex geometries and strict aesthetic requirements, to mass timber offices in Canada and the US, as well as the less common public art and accessibility ramps. Marcel uses engineered wood products, commodity building materials, and customized connections where they are best utilized to deliver efficient and holistic design solutions.
In his free time, Marcel enjoys playing guitar, headbanging at concerts, and discovering the healing aspects of yoga and running.
