Prologis Distribution Centre

Brampton, ON

This distribution centre is a single-storey facility containing warehouse space, and will be the first use of prefabricated panels and mass timber for this type of building, resulting in an estimated 24% reduction in embodied carbon emissions over the entire building structure. The interior columns and roof structure will be constructed using glulam columns supporting a roof made up of glulam beams and CLT panels. The vertical-lateral system will be steel columns and bracing along the perimeter. The perimeter façade will be comprised of Nexii panels, which will interface with the steel columns and the CLT panels. The building is targeting LEED Silver certification.

ASPECT is responsible for the glulam columns and roof design, and we are also providing fabrication design and temporary works services on the project. Gravity Engineering is the Engineer of Record for the steel and foundations.
