Fabrication Design Lead
Sailor, skier/snowboarder, mountain biker, wood-nerd, traveler, (proudest) father
Sascha graduated with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Okanagan College in Kelowna, BC. This led him to start his career at a local mass timber fabricator as a CNC machine programmer. Having grown up around a family carpentry business, and with his mechanical/process background, he developed a deeper interest in manufacturing wood and steel materials. His curiosity led him to hold many hats, ranging from programming and troubleshooting various CNC equipment to generating fabrication level 3D models using Cadwork. His wide experience also ranges from aligning site logistics planning to efficient production planning. Sascha has managed a Detailing team of up to 10 personnel including the management of extensive third-party detailing services.
Sascha loves building buildings out of wood and is keen to ensure a project is successful at each planning stage, making the final build a well-coordinated dream! He has worked on many of North America’s largest mass timber buildings ranging from multi-family residential towers, to cutting-edge campuses and headquarters of large tech companies. Sascha witnessed the exponential growth of the mass timber movement in North America firsthand having been deeply involved in the “Biggest Timber Building Ever” every single year of his 12-year tenure.
In his leisure time, Sascha enjoys being outdoors mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding, sailing or relaxing at the beach.
