Sexqeltqin No. 4 Indian Reserve, Chase, BC
A multi-purpose building that supports health and wellness, Indigenous Communities, and provides space for a variety of educational programs. This development is located on the Sexqeltqin No. 4 Indian Reserve near Adams Lake in British Columbia. The community continues to grow, creating a need to expand the health programs available for the community. The aim was to focus on not only physical but also mental and spiritual
health. With this holistic approach, the clinic was chosen to be designed as a health and wellness centre. Creating a space for events, programing, and activities, the centre provides many services, as well as early-learning opportunities.
As the structural Engineer of Record, ASPECT supported this 14,000 square feet multi-use building. This wood-framed building is a single-storey slab-on-grade development, and includes basement space below. The project team developed a highly-efficient building envelope by incorporating renewable materials, such as timber, and renewable energy, through the use of solar panels.
Recognized by the Canadian Wood Council for wood design and construction excellnce through the WoodWorks BC Wood Design Awards in 2025.
