Born and raised in South Wales, Simon left home to complete a Master’s degree in Civil and Architectural Engineering at The University of Bath, UK.
In 2015, he joined Arup as a graduate structural engineer in the London head office where he stayed for the next 7.5 years. There, he worked on a range of large-scale public and commercial architecturally-led buildings in central London. He developed his expertise in steel and concrete structures, working on every stage of design from concept to construction, including several site-based roles. Throughout his career, Simon has developed his interest in working on architecturally-focused buildings with significant multidisciplinary collaboration and sustainability goals.
He moved to Vancouver in Summer, 2023 where he joined Aspect, looking to develop his career focused on mass timber and building reuse.
Simon’s hobbies include any sport-related activity, including but not limited to: tag rugby, running, skiing, hiking, and cycling. He has successfully brewed a couple drinkable beers, and made a selection of unsold chopping boards.
