Simpcw Community Centre

North Thompson 1, Barriere, British Columbia

A new Community Centre for the Simpcw First Nation near Barriere, British Columbia. The programs include four main functions: school with daycare, healthcare, administration offices and a double-height gym hall. The two-storey building will be framed with light wood and some mass timber, and is to be designed to meet all codes and standards required for a high-importance facility. The larger spaces such as the classrooms and daycare will feature exposed nail laminated timber panels and the entrance will feature pairs of turned wood columns.
