Structural Desinger | B.A.Sc.
Art history nerd, Hockey defender, Certified “cool aunt”, Niche playlist curator
Thallia grew up in Toronto’s Greektown neighbourhood before moving to Waterloo to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science in Architectural Engineering. During her time at university, she completed four co-op terms and an international exchange in Dublin, Ireland – an experience for both her professional and personal growth. She gained hands-on learning during her co-op placements at architecture firms, building science consultants, and at ASPECT where she was introduced to the world of structural engineering.
As a previous ASPECT co-op, Thallia took on design responsibilities for small-scale projects, enabling her to see a project through from design to construction and building her confidence in the structural engineering field. Thriving off the problem-solving nature of this role, she approaches each project like a complex puzzle that she’s excited to solve. She is returning to ASPECT full time to continue learning from experienced engineers and gain exposure to a diverse range of projects. She values the clear path for career growth and development and is eager to expand her technical knowledge.
Outside of work, Thallia is an art history buff! Whether she’s listening to podcasts, reading, or checking out galleries during her travels — she loves learning about the stories behind fine art and artists. She’s also a lifelong hockey fan (go Leafs go!) and plays on the ice whenever she gets the chance. During playoffs season, you’ll probably find her nervously cheering with a glass of chocolate milk in hand.
