Bozeman, MT
This Montana production facility not only features mass timber, but is also dedicated to the production of volumetric and flat pack prefabricated timber components. Stretching out over the size of two football fields, the structure features long-span, glulam roof trusses supported by steel columns. The programming for this facility includes production spaces and an office area, with a mezzanine / storage area. ASPECT was engaged to be the Engineer of Record for the project, also taking on the Mass Timber Specialty work early in the process in order to streamline the hand-off between design and construction.
The roof and walls of the production spaces are comprised of prefabricated timber panels, while the office area features cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor panels spanning between the bottom chord of the building trusses. Above, the mezzanine is made up of a simple post-and-beam structure with CLT floors. The end-client for the facility, Zaugg Timber Solutions, is also the timber builder for the project.
