West Vancouver, BC
This three-level residence is located at 3381 Radcliff Avenue, and combines residential innovation with sustainable design. When it was completed, this home set a new standard for net zero energy buildings, achieving a Passive House Plus certification, an Energuide Rating of zero Green House Gas Emissions, and a zero GJ of energy consumption rating.
ASPECT was engaged as the structural Engineer of Record for the main home structure and detached car garage. The two-storey plus basement superstructure is comprised of prefabricated CLT floor, wall, and roof assemblies — all supported on a concrete foundation. This home also features floor-to-ceiling windows and follows passive solar design. A high-performance envelope and energy efficient system, the home required extensive details to meet the Passive House certification requirements. Creative structural designs were used to create sleek and refined solutions to meet the overall architectural intent.
