This contemporary, three-storey residence in Vancouver is heavily glazed in the front and rear facades, with the front of the home providing stacked viewing platforms towards ocean and mountain views. The residence features an elegant cantilevered staircase from the sidewalk along a concrete retaining wall, and a green roof that serves as a welcoming terrace.

ASPECT is the structural Engineer of Record for this home, which comprises of light wood frame and steel elements in the upper levels, with concrete suspended slabs and walls on the basement and main levels. The home’s 900 square foot detached garage is
built with light wood frame construction. ASPECT also worked with the project team to design a feature staircase comprising of thin steel stringer paired with a thin steel plate landing and a tensioned cable stair guard.
