BIM Technician | B.Eng.
Foodie, Designer
Growing up in Saudi, Arabia, Zuhair was always inspired by the world of engineering through witnessing his father’s work as a Civil Engineer. This interest from early on led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Structures. After school, Zuhair made his way to Canada, where he discovered Building Information Modeling (BIM). His passion for 3D modeling of structures compelled him to obtain a Postgraduate Diploma, and from there, Zuhair began his professional career as a BIM technician in Vancouver.
Zuhair has immersed himself in diverse projects ranging from Residential to Industrial developments. One major career milestone he’ll never forget is his contribution to a Modular Presentation Centre in Langley, where he witnessed the magic of a 3D model he had created, transform into a physical structure. Driven by a newfound passion for modeling wood-framed structures, Zuhair transitioned to a role as a Structural BIM/VDC Specialist at a BIM Consultancy. During this role, he dedicated himself to creating intricate 3D models of residential wood-framed buildings from 2D drawings.
As Zuhair’s expertise in BIM grew, so did his aspiration to delve into Structural Design and pursue a professional license as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), leading to a P.Eng. designation. This ambition has brought Zuhair to ASPECT, where he is eager to contribute his skills to our project teams, while also continuing his professional growth.
Outside of work, Zuhair loves watching mind-bending thriller TV series and movies. He also enjoys exploring the city for authentic Arab cuisine, connecting with his roots in a multicultural environment.
